KI NuMedia is a social enterprise of KI EcoCenter.  KI NuMedia produces web and graphic design for organizations and businesses that need marketing and branding assistance.  NuMedia also provides technological training for interns and youth as well as employment for skilled community members. NuMedia strives to adhere to the KI mantra of “Community Empowerment Through Self-Mastery” by providing visual representations of that mantra through our creations, including this website. A KI social enterprise made possible with the support of Green For All which provides economic and educational opportunity for youth in our community. Each sturdy 55 gallon barrel is designed to collect excess rainwater for use on your lawn/garden. Our youth paint each barrel by hand, giving them the opportunity to gain experience in entrepreneurship and learn about sustaining the environment. We have a wide variety of designs, colors, and flavors to fit your personality. This is your opportunity to support the environment, local business, KI EcoCenter youth, not to mention get a GREAT deal on a beautiful and functional piece of art for your yard and garden. The Bold and Clear Lecture Series is a social enterprise which gives KI’s young people the opportunity to talk about the experiences they’ve gained from working with KI and learn from other communities, locally, nationally and internationally. In 2012 our young people presented at the national Neighborhoods USA Conference in Indianapolis, the Growing Power Conference in Milwaukee, and will be traveling to Ghana in May 2013 to work with one of KI’s partner organizations that runs a large-scale aquaponics facility. Organizations, conference organizers, or other interested groups can book our young people to speak about a wide variety of topics including KI’s organizational culture, urban agriculture, climate change, and social entrepreneurship to name a few. We’ve also had groups make arrangements to visit KI EcoCenter and rent the space for conferences. In June 2012 Engage, a national network of educators, organizers, and college students held their 4-day Annual Convergence at KI EcoCenter. In October 2012 three teachers from Khon Kaen, Thailand spent a week visiting KI to learn and share with us about alternative education.
