Welcome To KI EcoCenter!
We are a community empowerment center and independent private school in downtown Indianapolis. We work to nurture critically aware young people, build a culture that lives in harmony with the environment, and create economic opportunity through social entrepreneurship.
We work with our youth to become self-driven and passionate social entrepreneurs. To us this means embodying a mindset that is constantly looking for opportunities to better the community and sustain our work. KI EcoCenter is home to many educational initiatives. Central to these is the KI Community School, which is an independent private school whose curriculum is focused on critical thinking, problem solving, environmental self-sufficiency, project management and standard school subjects. Through our Open Source Activism project we hold weekly free classes open to the community on mobile web app development.
KI EcoCenter hosts of a wide variety of events, from discussion panels on job creation to open-mic nights. At these events highly diverse inter-generational groups of individuals come together to discuss critical issues facing us in the 21st century along with constructive ideas about what each of us can do to make a difference in our local and global community.
